Meet Our Coaches
Meet Our Coaches for the 2019 Season!
Our Head Coach – Nicole Pecharsky
Hello Marlins family! For those of you I have yet had the pleasure to meet, my name is Nicole Pecharsky and I have the honour of being the Head Coach of the Red Deer Marlins for this 2019 swim season. This is my fifth year coaching with the club and I cannot thank the Marlins family enough for creating a second home for me at the Red Deer pool.
The summer has always been my favourite season, not just for the weather, but for the promise of summer swimming. Summer swimming was a huge part of my life for 10 years as an athlete and now as a coach. It has forever changed my life for the better, and my hope as a coach is that I can help foster that same passion, drive, and supportive environment for upcoming athletes.
Currently I am student at MacEwan University in the fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics. I am hoping to continue on with my studies applying for graduate school upon completion. So safe to say if any of the athletes need a little math homework help, I more than enjoy helping out 🙂 .When not looking at numbers, I enjoy hiking, biking, running, and of course the occasional Netflix session!
I am so beyond excited for the promise this upcoming season brings. It will be lots of hard work but also rewarding, and hopefully enjoyable! If you have any questions at all feel free to contact me 🙂
– Coach Nicole
My name is Claire Halford and I can’t wait to start another Marlin season! This is my fourth year coaching with the Red Deer Marlins. After swimming for this club for eight years, I switched to year-round swimming with Catalina 4 years ago. I am a grade 12 student at Hunting Hills High School. This is a sport I have been passionate about since I first entered the pool and I hope to pass that passion along to those I coach.
I am eager to be coaching both intermediate and senior, and start this year!
My name is Sydney McMurray and I am super excited to be coaching another season of Marlins. This is my second year coaching and I have the privilege of coaching a junior group, and an intermediate and senior group with Nicole. I have swum competitively for six years, four of which have been with the Red Deer Marlins. In the fall I will be continuing my education at the University of Alberta for my second year in secondary education. Coaching for the Red Deer Marlins is definitely the highlight of my summer and I am very excited for the rest of the season!
Hi, my name is Amelie Eidem and I’m so excited to coach this season! This is my first year coaching and 5th year swimming with the Red Deer Marlins. This fall I will be in grade 12 at Lindsay Thurber. I enjoy swimming and playing the piano. See you on deck!
